Landscape Oil Paintings

I absolutely love to paint landscapes. My first painting, or rather drawing, was a beach scene with the sun, palm tress, and some birds. I would draw this many times and then came oil painting and I never looked back. I love it.

I'm adding some videos that I feel will give you a good start and hopefully give you some ideas. People always ask what should I paint? Well, I tell them to paint whatever comes to your mind. There is no right or wrong way to paint. You just start painting whatever your heart tells you to. If you dont like it, its not like a tattoo, just cast aside and start again. After you get some experience, the path that you take in your oil paintings will become more defined. I tell people to never push it. Then it never fells like a task and will always be something fun and relaxing.I mean really, if you're not enjoying your oil painting then why do it.

Even my sister started painting when she was about 7 or 8. Her first painting was a horse and it still hangs in my mothers house. It was either my mother or my uncle started us both on painting. I can remember being really young and asking where this or that painting came from and she'd say either her or her brother painted it. I really couldn't see how at the time but I thought that was the coolest thing.
