Antique Oil Paintings are a very precious resource that a real hand painted and it is each one of our duties to protect and preserve
them. Antique oil paintings are normally painted by the well known painters such as Michel Angelo, Picasso, and many other well
known artists. These paintings should be respected as they provide us important information into the past. Information such as the
art and culture and even the traditions that stemmed after the prehistoric age and their knowledge of art.

These antique paintings should be well preserved and the proper care is taken when handling such an item. Most famous paintings
are internationally known and are shown in exhibits and museums around the world. I'm sure you've heard of the paintings "Mona Lisa"
and "The last Supper"? Even though they are very old they are still admired to this day.

Antique oil paintings are still in great demand still today and will continue to be for years to come. With the deep rich colors they
have they would also be great for your home also. Now I'm not saying you could buy The Mona Lisa, there are many antique paintings
you could buy. You even get a reproduction of a painting you especially liked and admired.

If you do get the chance to buy an anique painting remember to handle with the utmost care. First you must make sure that its
mounted on an acid-free board. There is a way to check if you painting is on an acid-free board. Look around the border
and if you see a brown stain its likely that its poor quality wood pulp and needs to be replaced. If its in a frame or you are going to
frame the painting make sure its deep enough to hold not only the painting but the backer board and the mounting board.
It will also let the
painting breathe as it lets in a small layer of air which will deter any mold. The backer board also keeps bugs and dust out of your
painting. You should also line the backer with acid free paper. If its under glass remove the glass as oil paintings need to breathe.

Be sure to take care of your painting. Proper wall placement is a good idea to keep in mind to preserve your painting and protect
from moisture or even fading.
